NSE-TV Student Staff Duties and Responsibilities

Anchor Person

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the

  • Shares responsibility with a co-anchor

  • Reads from teleprompter with expression

  • Dresses appropriately (dress code, no green, no heavy makeup)

  • Models good behavior and good citizenship throughout school day

  • Rehearses script at home

  • Comes to TV Studio prepared to work

    • On-time

    • When scheduled

    • With any materials necessary

  • Is flexible

  • May have to come in early on broadcast days to tape additional segments

  • Gathers information about any “Breaking News” situations

    • Takes card and interviews teacher/students involved

    • Writes story and gets it to teleprompter in a timely manner



Video and Sound Engineer

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates video and sound equipment while recording broadcast segments

  • Models good behavior and good citizenship throughout school day

  • Reviews script at home

  • Comes to TV Studio prepared to work

    • On-time

    • When scheduled

    • With any materials necessary

  • Is flexible

  • May have to come in early on broadcast days to tape additional segments



Reporters

  • Gathers information about their subject
    • Today in History
    • Weather Report
    • Brainteaser
  • Models good behavior and good citizenship throughout school day
  • Rehearses script at home
  • Comes to TV Studio prepared to work

    • When scheduled
    • With any materials necessary
  • Is flexible
  • Reads from teleprompter with expression
  • Dresses appropriately (dress code, no green, no heavy makeup)

Teleprompter/Graphic Designer

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design slides to use to announce transitions
  • Gather news stories and create slides to use for teleprompts
  • Advance teleprompts during taping of segments and rehearsals
  • Models good behavior and good citizenship throughout school day
  • Comes to TV Studio prepared to work
    • On-time
    • When scheduled
    • With any materials necessary
  • Is flexible
  • May have to come in early on broadcast days to tape additional segments
